Creative Commons License photo credit: TheTruthAbout… It seems the harder you try to stop panic attacks, the more likely they are to come on.  Also, trying to stop an attack of panic or trying to run away from it will almost always make the attack more severe.  I know it goes against all logic but the answer to overcoming panic disorder is to surrender to it.

Don’t run away or fight panic.  Actually studying the sensations panic attack brings on will help defeat it.  This is because when you use no effort you will be lessening the amount of adrenaline pumping through your veins and it is adrenaline that is the real culprit behind panic anxiety disorder.

Giving up the struggle is the first key to stopping panic.
