Nervous System Illness

Anxiety disorder and frequent panic attack are syndromes that can be described as nervous system illness.  In fact, suffering from chronic panic attacks can be very bewildering to the person inflicted with this disorder.  To the casual onlooker as well as the sufferer, this type of condition is often confused with a mental illness.

Panic and anxiety disorder are clearly not mental illnesses.  They are nervous system illnesses even though they are sometimes incorrectly described as mental problems.  On the other hand, it is ironic that some illnesses of the brain, such as Alzheimer’s disease are referred to as nervous sytem illness.

In order to defeat anxiety as well defeat panic attacks, it is the nervous systrem of the patient that is addressed.  Even the medication that is prescribed is the type of medicine meant to “calm nerves” or controll the overactivity of adrenaline flow.
