What Causes Anxiety
When trying to determine what causes anxiety, remember some anxiety is a necessary part of life. Anyone who lives totally without anxiety would probably be having problems of another kind. Anxiety is a normal response to different things we do and if there was no anxiety we would be part of a dream world.
You can find out a lot about your anxiety by making statements such as:
- I have anxiety because have children
- I have anxiety because I drive during rush hour
- I have anxiety because I work for a jerk
- I have anxiety because my husband drinks and is volatile
- I have anxiety because I am overwrought
- I have anxiety because I am going through a divorce

Composing such statements will help you find your underlying anxiety cause. However, when we try to overcome anxiety by fighting , we can build our normal response anxiety into a disorder or even a panic attack. Always approach the problem causing the underlying anxiety and not the anxiety itself. Understand that while this problem is a part of your life, the anxiety will trick you into thinking there is something else wrong with you. Don’t respond to these thoughts, they can elevate the anxiety into an anxiety disorder.
Sometimes an anxiety disorder can build without an apparent underlying cause. This often stems from recreational drug use. In such cases the underlying cause is bewilderment because you feel you would have nothing to be nervous about. Just let this type of anxiety disorder run its course. Don’t read anymore into it than just a nervous illness and if you do not cower from it it will go away in time.
