Stop Panic and Anxiety


Learning how stop panic and anxiety requires gaining a little knowledge of how the nervous system works.  First of all, anxiety and panic are not mental conditions though they are influenced by the anxiety and panic sufferer’s state of mind.

The human nervous system pumps adrenaline through the bloodstream in response to either trying to run away from something or in preparation for, or while fighting something.  Adrenaline makes many changes in a person’s being.  The pupils dilate, the heart races and thumps and even equilibrium and thought processing changes.  The more adrenaline is pushed though the bloodstream, the more a person’s regular senses are Oh Crap, Run!taken over by the false senses of adrenaline.

These false senses can be outright scary.  To a person already very nervous, the normal reaction to adrenaline’s false sensations is to run away from them and/or fight them of.  This causes more adrenaline to pump and a vicious cycle of false horrible sensations – fight/run away – more false horrific sensations is in turn.  The key to stopping panic and anxiety is to shut down this cycle.

You can’t run away from panic and anxiety.
