is it anxiety?

I was recently diagnosed with severe anxiety, but at times, I don’t think thats the problem. I mean…I show a few signs of anxiety, I guess, like being very afraid of things like crowds, water, driving, etc. But usually when I read about anxiety symptoms, its like panic attacks and nervousness. I really don’t have that problem. Lately I’ve had severe mood swings, a lot of trouble sleeping, and overall just feeling sort of “numb” like..not caring about anything. I’ve been told I should take anti-depressants, but I’m afraid that will only make it worse. Is this all part of anxiety?

There are different severities and kinds of it. I have OCD which is a type of anxiety but I don’t have a problem with crowds. I have to have all of my stuff in my lap or right beside me anywhere i go unless i’m in my car or home!!! It sounds so crazy and funny to hear it even to me but it’s not….it gets to me and stresses me out! I also have a son who was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at age 5 almost 2 years ago and some other anxiety issues have come along with that also! Good Luck! God Bless!

How do people get to the point of Panic/Anxiety Attacks?

I am a 25 year old female, and in this last week have begun to have “/panic/anxiety attacks”. What are these and why did I get them? Will they ever go away, and is there anyway to manage them other than meds…I have taken xanax for the past few day and I’m afraid not to take it…the times I went without I had more attacks! What is happening to me!

I think I get them occasionally, but I have a friend that cannot function with out meds…. maybe go to a psychiatrist, if you are religious, have people pray for you or seek counseling in that realm…
