A lot of people have never heard the word paruresis or have any idea what it means.  However, everybody has heard about and hundreds of thousands of people suffer from it.  Paruresis is the inability to urinate in a public restroom.  It is often referred to as shy bladder or shy or bashful kidney.

Well not thought of as a serious neuroses, some people can be inflicted with shy bladder to the extend they have trouble urinating when they hear noises outside their own bathroom or even imagine somebody is outside the door.

If the individual case of paruresis is severe enough, treatment centered around relaxation and visualization are administered.
