Most people have at least one or two mild phobias. Certainly, many of us are not comfortable climbing high up a ladder.
A person can have uncomfortable feelings about one thing or another without having his/her life genuinely upset by this uncomfortableness.
When somebody does have a strong fear of something, and this fear controls his/her life, this person is suffering from phobia anxiety disorder. Heights, closed spaces, such as elevators and flying are three of the most popular phobia anxiety disorders.
Overcoming this type of anxiety is approached in the way we go about stopping panic and generalized anxiety.
